This collection is comprised of documents that defendants in State of Minnesota v. Philip Morris, et al, claimed were privileged or otherwise protected from disclosure. A court ruled that the documents were not privileged or were subject to the crime fraud exception to attorney-client privilege and ordered the documents be produced. While the companies disputed that ruling in court, Congressman Thomas Bliley subpoenaed the documents and posted them on the Internet.
